The Whidbey Cloud Forums is a free and independent social outlet focused on:
- Local Whidbey Island discourse, meetups, trades, and more
- Providing an always-available platform with no-account-required viewing
- Centralizing local chatter into an easily accessible platform
This site is a part of the overall Whidbey Cloud ecosystem with these features on our roadmap:

- Live chatrooms and private chat messaging
- News, ads, classifieds, and more

We offer four Safe For Work (SFW) areas of discussion:
- General - Whether it's local news or off-topic chatter, the catch-all spot
- Events - One-stop bulletin board for on and off-island events
- Market - Local buy, sell, and trade
- Hobbies - Interest and activity-focused discourse

We also have 18+ Not Safe For Work (NSFW) areas requiring administrator/moderator approval for access.
What are the general rules? đ
This is a community-focused group first and foremost, but those who have previously departed or arriving sometime soon to the area are free to join as well!
Any NSFW posting in SFW spaces will be immediately removed and the poster will be subject to an immediate ban.
Disagreements, even up to heated debates, are tolerated but harassment, threats, slurs, or other such nonsense you wouldn't even dare say to someone's face in a crowded grocery store may face your post being flagged and/or your account facing a temporary suspension.
Use of this forum is subject to SESTA, FOSTA, and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA)
How anonymous is this site? đĩī¸
You may use this site as publicly or anonymously as you wish; the only information required when registering a Whidbey Cloud account is your email address and a nickname, anything else is optional.
Do remember that this is a public site accessible over the internet, so do keep in mind OpSec, etc.
Members don't have visibility into the email addresses of other members and only your nickname is widely-known.
Any profile pictures, profile bio information, posts, or replies are completely up to you.
What do the symbols near some members' nicknames mean? đ§
Admins will have a blue wrench icon like for this account @Whidbey Cloud Admin
Moderators will have a green lightning icon and may perform enforcement actions like reviewing and responding to flagged posts and users.

What is the roadmap of this site? đ
Our major initiatives at this time include:
- Reaching our first 10, then 50, then 100 users
- Adding browser-based video games to Whidbey Cloud with forum cross-posting
- Implementing a SFW general chatroom to Whidbey Cloud
This site can remain self-funded up until these points but for future growth we will enter a phase of requesting donations, minimal local business footer ads, and business-tier accounts for pushed classifieds.
